Could I be an author?

Well.. I've had the idea for a while in my head now. I used to write stories, I used to let my mind wander around and imagine lives that I don't get to live. So I guess I could consider myself an author.. could I? We'll see. The thing is I'll leave for France and Switzerland tomorrow. No idea if I'll have any Internet access. And also, when I come back, it will be the blocus period, the lovely and oh-so-amazing blocus, when I'm supposed to study 24/7. Oh well. Nobody reads it anyways.
